Conor McGregor’s next opponent remains uncertain, confirms Dana White

New Delhi: Conor McGregor is officially out to fight in 2024 and according to him, he will definitely make his return to the octagon in 2025. UFC president Dana White also revealed that McGregor will not get any opponent or fight dat until he is fit to fight again in the octagon.

This news came after a report asked White about who will take on McGregor in his return fight. McGregor was matched to fight against Miachel Chandler, but he pulled out from the fight for the second time. Chandler had been waiting for this fight for 18 months but now finally he is booked for another fight as he was not competing in the octagon since 2023.

White was in McGregor’s native town Dublin for his contender series. McGregor called up White when he came to know that White was in Dublin but McGregor was in New York and doing his training at that time.

McGregor most probable opponent was Chandler but now Chandler is booked for UFC 309, White will not reveal any opponent for McGregor. McGregor last fought in 2021 against Dustin Piorier when he suffered a leg injury and from now he is not fully recovered from that injury.

McGregor was recently seen in the Wembley edition boxing match between Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois. He is still hopeful to fight Chandler in his comeback fight, and Conor also confirmed that he will not fight in 2024 and might return in 2025. He has two fights remaining in the UFC contract and will try to fight as early as possible.

However, McGregor has been tested more than any fighter by UFC’s anti-doping program. He has been required to test for six months when he wants to fight in the UFC.
