New Delhi: India’s golden boy Neeraj Chopra recieved a hero’s welcome at the Sports University of Haryana in Sonipat on his homecoming. Chopra returned home to a grand reception after his silver medal-winning performance at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

This marks Chopra’s first appearance in India since the Paris Games, where he won a silver despite competing with a fractured left hand. Upon his arrival at the University, Neeraj was met with rapturous applause and loud cheers from students and officials. Four horses led Neeraj’s arrival on the University campus as Neeraj, along with other officials, travelled in a car behind before getting off to meet the students.

Neeraj was escorted by officials as enthusiastic students lined up to capture a glimpse of their sporting superstar. The star javelin thrower, who appeared to have his fractured left hand in plaster, greeted the students with a warm smile and waved at the crowd.

Hundreds of students lined up in two rows to celebrate the arrival of Chopra, who secured a silver medal in Paris with a throw of 89.45 meters.
