New Delhi: In a major step towards ease of healthcare, Ayushman Bharat Yojana beneficiaries will soon be able to access their health card anytime and anywhere at the click of a button. In an announcement during its Google for India event, the tech giant announced that Ayushman Bharat beneficiaries will soon be able to access their cards on Google Wallet.
The Ayushman Bharat health card is an identity card issued to beneficiaries of this scheme by the government of India. This entitles them to free healthcare up to Rs 5 lakh.
When will Ayushman Card be available on Google Wallet?
Google Wallet access to Ayushman Bharat Health Card (ABHA ID) is expected to commence from 2025 as part of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). Google will roll out the service in partnership with the National Health Authority. Digital ABHA ID on Google Wallet will enable individuals to share their medical history with any health practitioner in an instant.
All lab tests and prescriptions will be lined up for ready consultation in one place. Google Wallet will secure beneficiaries’ ABHA ID with PIN, unique patterns and other digital security options.

Ayushman Bharat Yojana has been introduced mainly to increase health facilities among the poor and rural people. This is the world’s largest government health insurance scheme. Through this scheme, eligible families of India get insurance up to Rs 5 lakh every year. With the help of this insurance, you can get treatment in the hospital. It includes treatment of many serious diseases. The Union Cabinet extended this scheme in September. Now under this scheme, every citizen of the country aged 70 years and above will get insurance coverage.
