IND vs PAK: Indian bowlers on a rampage but Asha Sobhana troubles with butterfingers!

New Delhi: Team India is taking on arch-rivals Pakistan in a high-pressure clash of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, being played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The clash was highly awaited in which the Women in Green won the toss and opted to bat first but couldn’t capitalise on the decision. The Indian bowling attack left them in tatters with quick wickets in succession but the Indian team had to go through some dropped catches, all centering veteran player Asha Sobhana.

While on one end, the Indian bowlers were regularly striking on a dry and slow pitch, Sobhana, who could have helped in giving a breakthrough a bit early, failed on her part. It was as if her fingers were dipped in melted butter as each catch that made its way toward her went past her hands and dropped on the ground. This quite obviously broke the team’s momentum who were in a rampage form, making amends of the mistakes committed in the previous game.

It first happened during the seventh over when Arundhati Reddy was bowling and wicketkeeper batter Muneeba Ali was on strike. Muneeba shuffled in and ramped the second delivery of the over which was a fullish one outside the off stump. The ball went straight to short fine where Sobhana dropped a dolly.

However, the next instance involved the same bowler i.e. Arundhati, who had to go through Sobhana’s woes again. In the 13th over, Reddy bowled the third delivery to skipper Fatima Sana. It was a length delivery outside off cutting in the air and Fatima had a thickish outside edge which flew to Sobhana at the short third man. She moved to her right, got both hands to it, and dropped it.

At this moment, even head coach Amol Muzumdar was seen shaking his head and a player from the India side had to go to Asha to offer a consolatory pat. Thaht is how Asha went on to drop two sitters!

Asha Shobhana has dropped two of the easiest catches ever seen, including one of Fatima Sana.

Then Fatima Sana hits her for 2 consecutive boundaries.

Asha finally has the last laugh as she dismisses her!

Asha Sobhana did it again, she should be thrown out of Indian team with immediate. If you can’t take such dollies then you simply don’t deserve to represent nation of 1.5 billion.

There was even a caught & bowled chance which she couldn’t hold.

They can’t even catch these, how are they allowed to play at International level ??

They will win vs Pak-W but it won’t change the fact that India-W cricket team is shit and good for nothing, I want to support them but then they do these things in every game.

India restrict Pakistan to 105/8

Despite Sobhana’s dropped catches, the Indian bowlers shone with their skillset as they removed wight Pakistan batters to restrict them at the score of 105. The Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 has seen low scorers so far and this game turns out to be nothing different. Former skipper Nida Dar was the top scorer with 28 runs followed by Muneeba Ali’s 17.

Reddy picked three wickets nonetheless while Shreyanka Patil scalped two. Asha Sobhana, Deepti Sharma, and Renuka Singh picked one wicket each. The Indian batters now have to complete a cakewalk of 106 runs to bag a first win in the tournament. If losing the game, chances for them will be all but over.

Although the Indian bowlers were running through the Pakistan batting line up, Asha Sobhana troubled Arundhati Reddy and the rest of his team by dropping not one but two dolly catches during the high-pressure game.  Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
