The Men in Blue will look to clinch the series in Delhi following a dominating win in the series opener in Gwalior on October 6, Sunday. Suryakumar Yadav’s men blew Bangladesh away with an all-round performance to take a 1-0 lead in the 3-match series. India wrapped up the seven-wicket win in just 11.5 overs and set the tone for the remainder of the series.
Indian bowlers wreaked havoc to bundle the visitors out for a paltry 127 in 19.5 overs after Surya sent Bangladesh into bat at the New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium, Gwalior.
Arshdeep Singh was the chief destructor for the Men in Blue with superb figures of 3 for 14 in 3.5 overs. Comeback man Varun Chakravarthy also picked up three wickets while Hardik Pandya, Washington Sundar and debutant Mayank Yadav bagged a wicket each for the hosts.
In reply, India cantered to win in just 11.5 overs thanks to useful contributions from the top and middle order. Sanju Samson and Suryakumar both scored 29 runs each but it was Pandya’s blazing cameo that stole the limelight. In what was a brutal and flamboyant display of batting, Pandya’s innings of 39* off 16 oozed with swag and class.
