Stocks in News today: RIL, Wipro, Coal India, HAL and more

Mumbai: The shares of Reliance Industries (RIL), Wipro, Macrotech Developers, Coal India, Hindustan Aeronautics and more companies are likely to remain in news on October 14, 2024 (Monday).

Reliance Industries

The shares of Reliance Industries is likely to be in focus today as the company’s board of directors are set to meet to consider and give a nod to Q2 Results of 2024-25. The RIL board is also expected to fix a record date for the company’s 1:1 bonus issue.

Wipro

Wipro’s board of directors will be meeting on October 16-17 to contemplate on bonus shares to investors and the second quarter financial results of 2024-25. “The Board of Directors of the Company will be considering a proposal for issue of bonus shares, in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Companies Act, 2013 (including the rules and regulations framed thereunder), the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Issue of Capital and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2018, at its meeting scheduled to be held over October 16-17, 2024,” Wipro said in the exchange filing.

Macrotech Developers

Realty firm Macrotech Developers announced its Q2 Results of 2024-25. In its financial results, the net debt increased 14 per cent to Rs 4,920 crore. The company sells its projects under the Lodha brand. The company’s net debt stood was recorded at Rs 4,920 crore as on September 30, 2024.

“Our net debt is Rs 49.2 billion, well below our ceiling of 0.5 times net debt/equity,” the company said. Earlier this month, Macrotech Developers in its financials stated a 21 per cent hike in sales bookings to a record Rs 4,290 crore during the July-September period.

Coal India

State-owned Coal India released its provisional figures of the first half of the ongoing fiscal over the year-ago period. CIL reported a marginal dip of 0.6 per cent to Rs 28,930.27 crore in the contribution to the government exchequer. The company mentioned that its total levies paid to the government in September also dropped by 11.1 per cent to Rs 4,335.24 crore from Rs 4,878.84 crore paid in the corresponding month of FY24.

Hindustan Aeronautics

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has approved the upgradation of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) to 14th Maharatna CPSE. The proposal was recommended by Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) headed by Finance Secretary and Apex Committee headed by Cabinet Secretary. HAL is a Department of Defence Production (DoDP) CPSE with an annual turn over of Rs 28162 crore and net profit of Rs 7595 crore for FY 2023-24.
