New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan met with Kolkata Knight Rider’s (KKR) star player Rahmanullah Gurbaz in Dubai on Sunday while attending an event. Khan, who co-owns the Kolkata-based Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, shares a close bond with every single player that represents the team. KKR were the crowned champions of the IPL 2024 and SRK was well in attendance for the final clash that was against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
Khan, known widely by his acronym SRK, was in Dubai on Sunday where he attended the launch of his son Aryan Khan’s luxury streetwear brand, D’yavol X. The event attracted several fans who flocked to the ground to get a sight of the global superstar and watch him perform some of the most famous dance numbers from his iconic Bollywood flicks. The event invited several close friends of SRK and Aryan, and Afghanistan wicketkeeper-batter Gurbaz was one of those who graced it by his presence.
A video of Gurbaz meeting with SRK during the event has gone viral on the internet. He can be seen walking ahead of SRK at first and also sharing a warm hug with him later on. Although the video was first posted by some fan accounts of SRK and KKR, it was later posted by Gurbaz himself on his Instagram account. “Always pleasure meeting you my all time favorite,” Gurbaz wrote as caption for the video post.

Gurbaz is one of the openers for KKR who delivers whenever he takes the crease. He carries an explosive batting skillset with him which is required by a team to get on to a flyer and produce a huge score for the opposition. With the IPL 2025 retention deadline approaching, it remains to be seen whether Gurbaz will be retained by KKR ahead of the mega-auction.
