New Delhi: Dhruv Jurel continued his brilliant form and smashed another half-century in the ongoing second unofficial Test match between Australia A and India A at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
Jurel who had scored 80 runs in the first innings, rescued his team again in the second innings with a gritty fifty, helping India A to set a challenging 168-run target in tough conditions. India A lost 5 wickets for just 52 runs in the second innings with top order struggling to score runs again.
Nathan Mcandrew removed Abhimanyu Easwaran on 17 runs while Rocchiccioli and Webster dismissed KL Rahul and Sai Sudharsan cheaply. Webster picked up his second wicket of the match and dismissed Padikkal for just 1 run. Jurel forged a 94-run partnership with Nitish Reddy for the sixth wicket. He scored 68 runs off 122 balls while Reddy also scored crucial 38 runs.
Tanush Kotian (44) also batted well and stitched a 49-run partnership with Prasidh Krishna, who scored 29 runs. For Australia A, Rocchiccioli picked up four wickets while Webster also took 3 wickets. Chasing the target, Australia A lost two wickets in the first over. Prasidh Krishna removed Marcus Harris and Bancroft on a duck. The Aussies have already won the first unofficial Test by 7 wickets in Mackay.
