Stocks in News Today: Alembic Pharma, Asian Paints, BEML, HFCL, Maruti and more

New Delhi: Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty were flat at market closing on Monday in what turned out to be a highly volatile trading session. FIIs continued as Sensex closed 9.83 points higher at 79,496.15, while the Nifty closed 6.90 points higher at 24,141.30. Asian Paints, Tata Steel, and Bajaj Finance were the top Sensex drags while Power Grid, HCL, and Infosys were the top gainers.

Foreign Institutional Investors remained net sellers, having sold stocks worth Rs 3,404.04 crore on Friday. Uncertainty regarding lower-than-expected Q2 earnings and US President elect’s trade policies continued to fuel market volatility on Monday. However, IT stocks thrived on expectations of a favourable visa regime.  Here are stocks that are likely to remain in focus on Tuesday, November 12, 2024:

Alembic Pharmaceuticals: The company received the USFDA’s nod for generic drug Diltiazem Hydrochloride extended-release capsules used to treat hypertension.

Asian Paints: The paint maker reported a 43.71 per cent decline Q2 net profit to Rs 693.66 crore, resulting in a more than 9 per cent decline in share price on Monday.

BEML: The PSU giant reported a 0.75 per cent decline in Q2 net profit to Rs 51.03 crore.

HFCL: The comoany received an order worth Rs 1,244 crore from BharatNet for its third phase, after its won the bids for a tender process. Under the order, it will offer O&M services to BharatNet worth Rs 746 crore. The order was secured in partnership with RVNL and Aerial Telecom Solutions.

Keystone Realtors: The realty giant said its Q2 net profit rose to Rs 65.55 crore from Rs 4.17 crore in the year-ago period.

Maruti Suzuki: The carmaker announced the launch of its mid-sized sedan Dzire in showrooms on Monday.

Vedanta: The mining conglomerate said it plans to invest nearly $500 million AvanStrate, which makes display glass.

Zomato: The food aggregator pushed back against CCI’s probe stating that it was in compliance with the laws of the land.
