New Zealand will host England for a three-match series starting on November 28 in Christchurch. After the series finishes in December, Southee will draw curtains on his illustrious career.

The 35-year-old is the second-highest wicket-taker (385) for New Zealand in Tests behind Richard Hadlee. Southee will play his last Test – the third match of the series – on his home ground in Hamilton.
Southee stepped down from the Test captaincy role ahead of New Zealand’s 3-0 whitewash of India. He handed the baton to Tom Latham, who led the Kiwis to a historic win in India.
Southee, who is one of six Kiwi players to have played more than 100 Tests, has also featured in 161 one-day internationals and 126 T20Is.
While Southee has clearly stated that the three-Test series against England would be his farewell, he might reverse his decision if the Kiwis qualify for the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final next June.
Overall, Southee is New Zealand’s all-time leading international wicket-taker with a whopping 770 wickets. He is also the only bowler in world cricket to have more than 300 Test wickets, 200 ODI wickets and 100 T20I wickets.
