Ottawa: Amid the escalating tensions in Canada, a video recently went viral on social media where a man could be heard calling Canadians “invaders” and asking them to go back to “Europe and England.”
In the video a large group of Khalistani supporters can be seen in the Surrey BC area reportedly during a ‘Nagar Kirtan’ programme, waving Khalistani flags and playing music.
The video clip shows the march in Surrey while several members several others shout slogans calling “white people” to “go back to Europe and Israel.”
“We are proud Canadians, this is our country, we are owner of this country. You are from Europe, go back to Europe you are not Canadian we are Canadian,” a man can be heard saying in the video as he urged people to share the video.
The man called Canadians “invaders”, and called himself “Native Indian” and continued to yell, “Go back Simon, go back.”
The video received over a million views with several X users expressing concerns over it and questioning its credibility.
A user said, “That accent doesn’t sound authentic. Might be a prank.”
The Indian and Canadian diplomatic ties have been in a toss after the killing of Khaklistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in 2023. The row escalated further after Canada alleged that Indian officials were involved in the shooting, causing both countries to expel each others’ top diplomats.
Recently, India on Thursday formally reacted to media reports about the arrest of a wanted terrorist and close associate of slain Khalistani radical Hardeep Singh Nijjar, Arshdeep Singh, alias Arsh Dalla in Canada. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed the arrest of Dalla, who is a key figure in the Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) and has been involved in over 50 criminal cases, including murder, terrorism, and extortion.
The external affairs ministry’s spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “Given the recent arrest, our agencies will be following up on an extradition request. Given Arsh Dalla’s criminal record in India and his involvement in similar illegal activities in Canada, it is expected that he will be extradited or deported to face justice in India”.
