New Delhi: Rohit Sharma, along with his wife Ritika Sajdeh, welcomed a baby boy in Mumbai on November 15. The social media was abuzz with reports of Rohit becoming a father for the second time late Friday night but nothing was confirmed till Rohit himself on Saturday confirmed the good news. The Indian cricket captain took to Instagram to announce the arrival of his second child a day later after the birth.

Rohit stayed back in India and did not join his teammates for the Australia tour for fulfilling his personal commitment. Reports in the social media suggested earlier that he’s certain to skip the opening Test in Perth and be available for the second Test match in Adelaide as the delivery of his wife was expected to be around the same time as that of the first Test.

But since the birth of the child has happened a week earlier, reports have been circulating on social media that Rohit might be available for the series opener in Perth from November 22. While numerous unconfirmed reports have started doing the rounds that he might reach Perth in the next couple of days and join his teammates for the first Test, few other reports are also circulating about Rohit’s communication to the BCCI about his unavailability for the series opener.

Fe media reports also suggest that the Indian cricket board has kept all the logistical arrangements ready if Rohit decides to join the Indian team at the last moment. If the skipper intends to depart to Australia, he will have to leave Indian maximum by November 18 so that he reaches couple of days ahead of the scheduled start. Keeping all the things in mind, he will get at least a couple of days to practice before the beginning.
