New Delhi: Star Pakistan batter Babar Azam on Monday overtook senior Indian cricketer Virat Kohli’s tally in T20 Internationals during the third and final match against Australia played at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart. He achieved the feat during the nth over of the Pakistan innings when he reached at 38, going past Kohli’s T20I runs of 4188.
The Pakistan opener took a couple of runs on the first ball of Nathan Ellis’ 12th over. He played the ball towards long-on to quickly run for two runs along with Irfan Khan. That shot helped him surpass Kohli’s runs in T20 Internationals.
Babar now became the second most run-scorer in the shortest format of international cricket with former India T20I captain Rohit Sharma on top with 4231 runs in 151 innings.
