Donald Trump’s viral dance hits football as Christian Pulisic joins the trend – WATCH

New Delhi: Newly elected American president Donald Trump’s viral dance moves are not just making waves in political circles but have also taken the internet by storm, becoming a global sensation. What started as a quirky move during his campaign rallies has now made its way to unexpected places – including the football field.

Joining the growing list of athletes mimicking the “Trump dance” is none other than U.S. men’s national soccer team captain Christian Pulisic.

In the recent Concacaf Nations League clash, the United States secured a 4-2 victory against Jamaica. Pulisic opened the scoring in the 13th minute, and his celebration quickly stole the spotlight. Instead of a routine fist pump or run, Pulisic broke into the now-viral Trump dance, much to the delight of fans. The moment, captured on video, spread like wildfire across social media, garnering millions of views and reactions.

After the match, Pulisic addressed the buzz around his celebration. “Obviously, that’s the ‘Trump dance.’ It was just a dance that everyone is doing. He’s the one who created it. I just thought it was funny,” Pulisic said with a smile, downplaying the viral moment.

The USMNT secured their place in the Concacaf Nations League semifinals with a 5-2 aggregate win over Jamaica. The semifinals and final are set to take place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, from March 20 to 23. The U.S. team enters the next stage as three-time reigning champions of the tournament.

Other athletes joining dance craze

Donald Trump’s dance has been the latest craze in sports since he won the 2024 presidential elections. During his election rallies, he used to conclude his appearances with a dance move. He used to raise his fist in the air while dancing over the Village People’s song “YMCA”.

Las Vegas Raiders rookie tight end Brock Bowers broke into the dance after scoring a touchdown on Sunday. He revealed that his inspiration came from UFC star Jon Jones, who performed the same dance during UFC 309 at Madison Square Garden, with Donald Trump in attendance. The trend has been started by San Francisco 47ers edge rusher Nick Bosa in the NFL on November 17th.
