Gwalior: Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia’s advocacy for turning Gwalior into a major technology and industrial hub has resulted in major gains for the erstwhile royal’s constituency. While industrialist Gautam Adani-led Adani Group pledged Rs 3,500 crore investment in the city, billionaire Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries agreed to invest Rs 150 crore in the city, according to statements made at the Regional Industry Conclave in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.

Adani Group to invest in Guna-Shivpuri
Adani Ports MD Karan Adani announced that the Adani Foundation will set up a jacket production facility in Badarwas with an eye on women empowerment. Adani Group will also set up a 2 million tonne capacity cement production unit in Guna apart from a propylene production facility in Shivpuri.

Tropilite Foods serves the world from Gwalior
The proprietors of Tropilite Foods praised Scindia for helping set up the company in the region. The company is a key supplier to domestic and international brands, including burger chain operator McDonald’s. Tropical Foods’ chief agreed to invest Rs 500 crore in the Gwalior Chambal region.
RIL’s fertiliser and biogas plans
Reliance Industries’representatives stated the oil-to-consumer conglomerate will set up a fertiliser and biogas production facility in Gwalior. Gwalior garnered investments worth Rs 4,570 crore during the regional industrial conclave. Out of this Rs 2,750 crore will be invested in the 10 parts of Gwalior-Chambal regional. Apart from this 5 previously set units will receive investments worth RS 2,000 crore.
