New Delhi: Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Monday appointed former Indian cricketer Sridharan Sriram as the assistant bowling coach ahead of IPL 2025 season. The 49-year-old will replace West Indies’ Dwayne Bravo in the concerned role to join the Stephen Fleming-led coaching staff.
Bravo made a move to defending IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as the team mentor. Sridharan brings a wealth of experience to his justify his role and can add to the development of spinners given that he was a left-arm spinner during his playing days.

Sriram Sridharan’s Coaching Experience and Expertise
The Tamil Nadu-born coach served as Australia’s assistant coach from 2016 to 2022, and later worked with Royal Challengers Bangalore (now Royal Challengers Bengaluru) as their assistant coach. He worked with the Bangladesh men’s cricket team as their technical consultant for the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
In IPL 2024, Sriram worked as the assistant coach of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) under the leadership of Justin Langer. He has also previously worked with Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals) in the same capacity.
Sriram will join the likes of Mike Hussey (CSK batting coach) and Eric Simmons (CSK bowling coach) in the coaching unit of the five-time IPL champions.
CSK will have a revamped squad after the IPL 2025 mega auction. One of the significant addition to the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led squad is the return of local player and former Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. The likes of Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Shreyas Gopal, Noor Ahmad, and Deepak Hooda will be working closely with Sriram.
CSK will start its IPL 2025 campaign against Mumbai Indians on March 23 at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
