The four major drivers of employment in IT will be Artificial intelligence (AI), data science, cloud computing and cybersecurity, a report from Quess IT Staffing has said. The technology staffing solutions provider firm has even projected that as many as 10 lakh jobs will be generated in these sectors by the year 2030.
Significantly, Bangalore remains on top of the tech hiring zone. It contributed 43.5% of the tech pool demand. The second and third names on this list were Hyderabad that contributed 13.4% and Pune which accounted for 10%. This was stated in the report titled ‘Technology Skills Report, December 2024’. The report has identified AI and machine learning (ML), cybersecurity, cloud computing, data science, and blockchain to lend transformative impact on various industries.
Transformative shift in India’s tech workforce
Kapil Joshi, CEO of Quess IT Staffing told the media, “India’s technology workforce is witnessing a transformative shift. The synergy of traditional skills like ERP (enterprise resource planning) with breakthrough technologies such as AI and ML and quantum computing presents unparalleled opportunities.”
As a result of the contributions from these drivers, the total workforce in Indian IT industry is projected to rise to 75 lakh by 2030 from the current level of 54 lakh. Am lot of the new jobs will be in emerging technologies.
Impact on financial services, healthcare, e-commerce
Blockchain technology and cybersecurity are emerging as a critical enabler in banking, financial services and insurance. These facilitate security in transactions, detection of fraud and identity management. AI and ML are driving improved personalised customer interactions and risk management.
In the healthcare sector, these technologies play a role in predictive analytics, personalised medicine, and telehealth, which are growing in importance in the modern world. Data science is facilitating drug discovery and analysis of patient data. Sectors such as e-commerce are getting the help of these technologies in reaching out with personalised services and communication.
