All Indian Visa Centres in Bangladesh Closed Indefinitely Amid Unstable Situation

New Delhi: As the situation in Bangladesh remains unstable, all Indian visa application centres in the country have shut down until further notice following former prime minister Sheikh Hasina was forced to resign.

“All IVACs will remain closed till further notice, due to an unstable situation. Next application date will be informed through SMS & It is requested to pick up the passport on the next working day,” the online portal read.

This comes a day after India evacuated non-essential staff and their families from its High Commission and consulates in Bangladesh amid the volatile situation in the country.

India has a high commission in Bangladesh‘s capital Dhaka and consulates in Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna and Sylhet.
