New Delhi: Formula One team Alpine has unveiled a stunning Deadpool & Wolverine-inspired livery for this weekend’s Belgian Grand Prix. Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon will take the wheel in a red and black livery, with yellow claw marks on the side, representing the themes of two Marvel superheroes in the new movie, which releases on Friday, July 26.

Alpine’s connection with Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds is the real reason behind the new livery. Reynolds was part of an investors’ group that was behind a significant €200m deal with the Formula One team last year.
Alpine will be hopeful of a good show with the new livery after a dismal display last year at Spa. Gasly and Ocon crashed out in Q1 after Alpine decided to keep both cars in the garage as track conditions improved.
Things went from bad to worse on race day as Gasly retired due to a technical issue while Ocon failed to gather points.

Meanwhile, Gaisly is placed 15th in the drivers’ standings with six points while his French teammate Ocon in 18th with only three points.
Max Verstappen, three-time winner of the Formula One World Drivers’ Championship title and the defending championship sits atop the table with 265 points including seven wins and nine podiums while his team Red Bull leads the Constructors’ standings with 389 points including seven wins and 13 podiums.
