Barely a few days after an 8-year-old girl was gang raped and murdered by three juvenile boys in Nandyal district, another horrific incident of rape and murder of a minor girl came to light on Wednesday.
The body of the minor girl was found in Nelaballi forest area of Doravarisatram mandal, Tirupati district.
According to Tirupati DSP, the girl who is also eight-year-old, is the daughter of Bihari migrants and was raped and murdered by another labourer by luring her with biscuits.
As per the police, around 40 families from Bihar work at the rice mill located on the outskirts of Nelaballi.
Alarming rate of crime against minor girls:
Over the last month, at least 4 minor girls have been found either raped or murdered in the state, with activists calling on the government to take steps to prevent such heinous crimes.
In Nandyal district, police are still searching for the body of the 8-year-old girl who was raped, murdered and thrown into Muchhumarri Irrigation Canal. Two adults related to one of the juvenile boys have also been arrested.
In a separate incident, a 13-year-old girl was found dead under suspicious circumstances at the house of a gas delivery boy on July 15 in Kothareddipalem village, Chebrolu mandal, Guntur district.
Another 13-year-old girl was murdered in her house by a 26-year-old man B Suresh in Koppigondapalem village, Anakapalle district.
The owner of a photocopy shop was arrested for outraging the modesty of a 14-year-old girl in Anantapur district.
