New Delhi: Former Barcelona star Andres Iniesta has hung up his boots but the legendary playmaker is not standing still. Iniesta finally called time on his playing career last month after being at the game’s highest level for more than two decades. But Iniesta has stepped into the next chapter of his career as he became a co-owner of FC Helsingør through his “Never Say Never” (NSN) venture. The former Spanish footballer will be following in the footsteps of his former teammate Gerard Pique.
A deal for the Danish second-tier outfit had been on the cards since Iniesta’s company was involved with the club as a consultant for several months. The top-flight team got relegated last season and are placed seventh out of 12 teams. Helsingor last played in the top division (Superliga) seven years ago.
