New Delhi: Anshul Jubli, the next big thing for Indian MMA is all set to face Australian fighter Quillan Sailkild at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney on February 9, Sunday. There fight will be in the early preliminary card for the event.
Jubli made his UFC debut in 2023, but his debut didn’t go well as he lost his first fight against Mike Breeden in the UFC via TKO. His last fight was in UFC 294 and after 17 UFC events, he will be making his return to the octagon.
Jubli started his amateur career with a spectacular 7-0 record before turning into a professional fighter. He fought his first professional fight in 2019 in the Matrix Fight Night (MFN) 2.
The 28-year-old fighter started his professional career with a thumping victory over Sanjeet Budhwar via unanimous decision. After that win, he stretched his professional record to 5-0 in the MFN.
Jubli switched to UFC in 2022, where he competed in the ‘Road to UFC’ tournament and won two successive fights in the tournament and earned a UFC contract to perform in the main roster.
Jubli was unbeaten, with a record of 7-0 before fighting against Mike Breeden. He lost his debut UFC fight and suffered his first professional loss of his career.
Now, the Indian star is 7-1 ahead of his next fight against Sailkild at the UFC 312 event and will look to bounce back after his first defeat in the UFC.
Quillan Sailkild’s record
Australian fighter started his professional career on a low as he tasted defeat in his debut fight in 2021. But after his loss, he made a great return and won six consecutive fights.
Out of six wins, he finished his fight five times and went to the distance just once. He will be making his UFC debut against Jubli, and his current record is 7-1 in his professional MMA career.
