Mumbai: The Indian stock markets, including benchmark indices – BSE and NSE, are open for usual trading sessions on February 19, a day when Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti is being celebrated.

However, the forex market will remain closed today on account of ‘Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj birth anniversary.

The clearing and settlement of stocks and funds will be suspended for the day. While equities, derivatives, and SLB trading will continue as normal, however, pay-in and pay-out settlements of stocks and funds will not be made due to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti.

“The subscription orders in all Debt and Liquid Mutual Fund schemes (including L1 and L0 category schemes) placed on February 19, 2025, will be reported to the respective registrars on the next business day, February 20, 2025,” an official circular read.s

Stocks purchased on February 18 or 19 will reflect in demat accounts on February 20.
The money after selling of stock February 18 or 19 will be credited on February 20.
Investors are not allowed to sell shares bought on February 18 as settlement will only take place on February 20.

The BSE, in its circular, mentioned that February 19 as a non-business day for debt and liquid mutual funds. “The subscription orders in all the Debt, Liquid Mutual Fund schemes and L1 and L0 category of schemes shall be accepted on February 19, 2025, and will be reported to the respective Registrars on the next business day. The orders shall be available in the Provisional Order Report with the Order date as February 19, 2025. Also, in the Order Status Report, the order date shall be available as order date as February 20, 2025,” sad in the circular.
