New Delhi: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has declared a two-day holiday on July 7 and July 8, 2024 in view of the auspicious occasion of Lord Jaggarnath’s Rath Yatra in the state. Consequently, these two dates have been added in Odisha holiday list 2024. Apparently, banks will also be closed in the state for these two days. The chief minister said, “As the Rath Yatra will span two days, I direct the officers concerned to declare public holidays on these days.”

The Chief Minister informed that President Droupadi Murmu will participate in the auspicious Rath Yatra ceremony. The information regarding the declaration of a public holiday was posted on the official ‘X’ handle of the state’s chief minister:
ଚଳିତ ବର୍ଷ ରଥଯାତ୍ରା ଏକ ବିରଳ ଏବଂ ଅଭୂତପୂର୍ବ ଯାତ୍ରା । ଏହାକୁ କିପରି ଭାବରେ ସଫଳତା ପୂର୍ବକ ସୁରୁଖୁରୁରେ କରାଯାଇପାରିବ ଏଥିପାଇଁ ଏକ ସ୍ଵତନ୍ତ୍ର ସମୀକ୍ଷା ବୈଠକ ଡକାଯାଇଥିଲା । ମହାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଆଶୀର୍ବାଦ ଓ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କ ସହଯୋଗରେ ଏଥର ରଥଯାତ୍ରା ସଫଳ ହେବ ବୋଲି ମୋର ଆଶା ଓ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ । pic.twitter.com/8cXEQKUQUC
