In the following eight states banks are closed on Friday, November 1, 2024. These states are: Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Tripura, Meghalaya, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir and Sikkim. Banks are closed in these states on account of Diwali, Kut Festival and Kannada Rajyotsava.
November 1 is day of formation of the state of Karnataka. It is known as Karnataka Rajyotsava or Kannada Rajyotsava. Some also call it the Karnataka State Day. It goes without saying that it is observed as a holiday in the state of Karnataka.
Kut Festival is also on November 1
This is an important festival for the Kuki, Chin, Mizo tribes of the state of Manipur. It is a festival related to agriculture since the people pray for divine blessings for a bountiful harvest. Agriculture festivals are common in an agrarian country like India and almost all states have their share of such festivals.

November has quite a few bank holidays. These will be observed on November 2 (as many as 7 states), 7 (3 states), 8 (3 states), 12 (1 state), 15 (20 states), 18 (1 state) and 23 (1 state).
