Barcelona’s registration crisis: Financial delays test patience of Olmo and Victor

New Delhi: The registration drama concerning FC Barcelona players Dani Olmo and Pau Victor persists despite the club’s hopes to settle it today. Dani Olmo is being closely monitored by both Premier League clubs, Manchester United and Manchester City.

The club failed to re-register the pair before the December 31 deadline, so the Blaugrana have been busy over the past couple of days trying to find a way to secure new licenses for the duo and include them in their squad for the second half of the season.

Barcelona feels completely confident, believing they have submitted all required documents to La Liga regarding the €100 million sale of Camp Nou VIP seats. This will enable them to register both stars and revert to the 1:1 ruling.

However, RAC1’s Marta Ramon has now also reported that Barcelona are yet to receive the full payment for the sale of VIP seats, and that is why they still do not have approval from La Liga.

According to the latest update, the Catalans are waiting to receive €28 million from investors and will receive the amount soon. Once this amount is transferred, it will enable the operation to proceed.

The club administration has managed the entire situation strangely, prompting questions about Joan Laporta and his board’s decisions. Meanwhile, Olmo and Victor remain composed and training under Hansi Flick’s guidance despite their increasing frustration with the circumstances.

The Barcelona manager spoke to the press shortly before tomorrow’s game against UD Barbastro and shared his thoughts on the ongoing registration crises.

Dani Olmo’s agent statement

Dani Olmo’s agent, Andy Bara, amid the claims that many Premier League and German clubs are looking forward to signing the 26-year-old, has clearly stated that the decision made by Dani is to stay at Camp Nou as he wants to play for Barca. Right now, we are not considering any other options. Dani wants to play for Barcelona.

What next for Olmo?

Olmo started off his career at Barca’s La Masia academy and left the club at the age of 16. He returned to the club on a deal worth almost €60 million. Though he remained unregistered in the first two games, he made 16 appearances and scored six goals so far. The club relied on him after Andreas Christensen was sidelined due to an Achilles issue.

Olmo and Victor were seen training with the Barcelona squad and are expected to start for Barca against Barbastro in the Copa del Rey round of 32 matches.

Barcelona’s registration crisis delays Dani Olmo and Pau Victor’s licenses, testing patience amid financial woes and La Liga’s pending approvals.  Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
