New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made some rectifications in the venues for Team India’s upcoming international home season, which it had announced some two months back. As it was reported earlier, the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, which was earlier slated to host the second Test between India and the West Indies in October, will now play host to the first Test between India and South Africa in November.
Meanwhile, the second Test between India and the West Indies, beginning October 10, has been shifted to the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, which was earlier scheduled to host the opening India vs South Africa Test. The two fixtures have been swapped with each other’s originally announced venues after the governing body reportedly came under scrutiny for scheduling a Test (IND vs SA) in the national capital during a time which witnesses severe levels of air pollution.
“The 2nd Test against West Indies, originally slated for Kolkata, will now be held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Meanwhile, the 1st Test against South Africa, starting November 14, 2025, has been shifted from New Delhi to Eden Gardens in Kolkata,” the BCCI stated on Monday, in an official release.
