BGT: Indian pacers share practice experience with Pink-ball ahead of 2nd Test – WATCH

New Delhi: Team India has started preparations for the much-awaited Day-Night Test in Adelaide. Ahead of the practice match in Canberra, the young Indian fast bowlers shared their experience after working with the pink ball.

The Men in Blue will look to win the second Test after defeating Australia by 295 runs in Perth, and the focus now shifts to the Pink ball Test. Some of the players shared their experiences after practicing with the pink ball and said that it swings more and also retains its shine for a longer period than the traditional red ball. This means that the batters have to play out much longer to take away the shine from the ball.

Ahead of the Adelaide Test, the Men in Blue are scheduled to play a two-day match against the Prime Minister’s XI at the Manuka Oval in Canberra. However, the opening day of the match was washed out due to rain, and both sides agreed to play a 50-over per-side match on Day 2.

Team India has played only four Day-Night Test matches and has won three. Their only loss came against Australia in 2020 when the Men in Blue were bundled out for its lowest Test score of 36 runs.

Prasidh Krishna said that the pink ball is slightly bigger than the red ball. He further said that the seam of the pink ball is tied up, which makes it heavier and it is going to move more than the red ball.

“For me, it is going to do more than the red ball, in terms of shine and also when the lights come on. Also takes away for reverse swing. As bowlers, we are also learning a few more sessions to go before the game” Prasidh Krishna said in the BCCI video.

Mukesh Kumar said that the seam of the pink ball is not visible very quickly, and it doesn’t show from which side it is going to shine after skidding. While, Yash Dayal said that he bowled to Virat and Rohit with the pink ball and, if the bowler keep the line and length intact, the ball will do things on its own.

“I have bowled to Virat and Rohit bhai, and I feel that the ball is not swinging a lot, the seam position has to be straight. If you keep the line and length intact, the ball will do things on its own,” Yash Dayal said.
