New Delhi: Indian captain Jasprit Bumrah was involved in a heated argument with Sam Konstas at the end of Day 1 of the fifth Test match at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Friday, January 3. After the confrontation, a fired-up Bumrah dismissed Khawaja for 3 runs in the last over of the day.
All the drama started when Bumrah was about to bowl to Khawaja but the Australian opener was not ready. The Indian captain had to turn around and get back to his mark again. He didn’t like it one bit and made it known, to which Konstas replied and both players had a go at each other.
After the two balls, Bumrah bowled a full-length delivery that took the edge of Khawaja’s bat and KL Rahul grabbed a brilliant catch at slip. Bumrah gave a fiery look to the young Australian batter and yelled loudly in aggression. The entire Indian team was celebrating in front of Konstas as he walked towards the dressing room quietly.
