Tirunelveli: Tamil Nadu police arrested the state vice president of Hindu Makkal katchi, a Pro Hindu outfit, for saying that the BJP can win in Tamil Nadu only if there are riots in the State.
The purported telephonic conversation between Tirunelveli district BJP president Tamilselvan and Hindu Makkal Katchi Party’s state vice president Udayar has triggered a controversy after Hindu Makkal Katchi leader was heard saying if the BJP wants to gain a foothold in Tamil Nadu, it will have to riot. The audio conversation between the state BJP leader and the leader of the pro-Hindu outfit has gone viral on social.
In the audio, Udayar said that it is excruciating that BJP has lost all 39 constituencies in Tamil Nadu in the recently held Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
Udayar questions the BJP district president whether Nainar Nagendran (BJP candidate for Tirunelveli Lok Sabha seat) did not give the ‘money’ to the party members. “He has given it only to his relatives and other administrators are dissatisfied, Udayar was heard talking about money to bribe voters and said that the funds also did not go to anyone/ voters properly.
After this audio went viral on social media, Hindu Makkal Katchi founder leader Arjun Sampath said that it is strongly condemnable that the BJP will grow only if there is a riot against the party’s policies, and ordered to remove Udayar from the basic member of the party.
The audio of Hindu Munnani party functionary Udayar saying that the BJP should create riots to grow in Tamil Nadu has gone viral on social media. He was arrested based on a complaint filed by Sub-Inspector Duraipandi from Tirunelveli.
