New Delhi: Varun Chakravarthy’s sensational five-wicket haul and Hardik Pandya’s fiery knock went in vain as England bowlers overpowered Indian batters to register a gritty victory in the third T20I match in Rajkot on Tuesday. After losing the first two matches of the five-game series, the English side bounced back in style to remain afloat in the series with a 26-run victory.
The likes of Jamie Overton, Brydon Carse and Jofra Archer effectively managed to keep the Indian batters at bay in the chase producing pure excellence with the ball as the trio picked 7 wickets together, with Overton standing out with figures of 3/24. Archer and Carse picked two wickets apiece while Adil Rashid and Mark Wood also contributed with a wicket each as India could just muster 145/9 in the stipulated 20 overs, in reply to England’s first innings score of 171/9.
