Novo Oriente: In a shocking case reported from Brazil, a man has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting and raping his wife, daughters and mother-in-law; not only this, he did this for over two decades and kept them imprisoned for this whole duration.
Brazil Man Rapes, Imprisons Wife, Daughters and Mother-in-Law for 20 Years
A 54-year-old man living with his wife and daughters in Brazil’s Novo Oriente, has been arrested after being accused of raping and imprisoning his wife, seven daughters and mother-in-law for over two decades. In a report citing Brazilian media outlets, the People has said that the man who remains unnamed, was arrested after one of his daughters managed to escape.
The man sexually abused his mother-in-law who unfortunately passed away after she fell sick and did not get the required care. The accused is currently in custody but has denied all charges against him.
Man Rapes Wife, Holds Her Captive; Forces Her to Have Miscarriages
The People report also reveals that the allegations not just include rape and imprisonment, the accused had also forced his wife to have miscarriages. The accused raped his wife throughout his marriage and held her captive; she could only go out of the house to receive benefits and then too, was accompanied by her husband.
The man forced medication and made his 40-year-old wife have three miscarriages; he has also been accused of burying three fetuses on his own property.
Brazil Man Sexually Abuses Daughters, Drill Holes in their Washrooms
The man also sexually abused his seven daughters who are between the age of 3 and 22. According to the Peoples report, the daughters have claimed that their father raped them, drilled holes in the walls of their washrooms so that he could watch them taking a shower and getting dressed.
The daughters have said that the man has also raped them before forcing them to have abortions. One of the daughters, who managed to escape and bring this crime to light, had given her father a sleeping pill so that she could go and report him to the police.
54-Year-Old Man Charged with Rape, Concealment of Corpse Among Others
The accused has been charged with psychological violence, abortion, rape of a vulnerable person, false imprisonment and concealment of a corpse.
The Police Spokesperson Herika Ribeiro Sena was quoted in the People report as saying, “What this daughter did is very important: bringing what was happening to the public so that action could be taken.”
While the accused has denied all charges, an investigation is underway.
