New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present Budget 2025 on February 1, 2025, i.e., Saturday. The minister will begin her Budget speech at 11 am. Sitharaman will create history as she would present a record eighth consecutive budget.
The Budget session of Parliament commenced on January 31 (Friday) with President Droupadi Murmu’s address to the Parliament. The session will be held in two parts – first part will run until February 13, while the second will begin on March 10 and end on April 4.
Nirmala Sitharaman’s Budget speech in Lok Sabha will be broadcast live from 11:00 AM on February 1 (Saturday). This year’s Budget presentation by Sitharaman will take her closer to the record of 10 budgets that were presented by former prime minister Morarji Desai over different time periods.
Economic Survey 2024-25
The Economic Survey 2024-25 was tabled in Parliament ahead of the Union Budget on Friday. It called for a philosophical approach to governance by rolling back regulations significantly to accelerate economic growth and employment amidst unprecedented global challenges.
The Survey projected India’s real GDP growth at 6.4 per cent in FY25. On the inflation front, it stated that RBI and the IMF have projected India’s consumer price inflation will gradually align with the target of around 4 per cent in FY26.
