New Delhi: India’s sole performer in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 was Jasprit Bumrah. However, in the last test match of the series, Bumrah suffered an injury and was ruled out of the last innings. The pitch of Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) was the spiciest pitch in the series, but Bumrah missed out on an important innings for India.
Bumrah felt discomfort after the Lunch break on Day 2 of the last test match and didn’t bowl after that in Australia’s first innings. Bumrah went to the hospital and it was reported that Bumrah suffered a back spasm and couldn’t be fully fit to bowl again in the SCG test match.
“Little frustrating, sometimes you have to respect your body, you can’t fight your body. So they’re a little disappointing at the end that, you know, probably missed out on the spiciest wicket in the series, but yeah, that’s the way it is. Sometimes you have to accept what it is and, you know, move forward,” Jasprit Bumrah stated in the post-match presentation.
Bumrah bowled 151.2 overs in the test match and he was present in the field every day throughout the Test series. Indian pacer took 32 wickets in the series with an average of just 13.02. He was unplayable many times in the series.
