New Delhi: CDSL shares are on the rise. The company shares have seen a rise of more than 50 percent in the past three months. Though the company posted not so appealing January-March quarter results of FY25, yet the counter is rallying because of the strategic market position of the company.
A surge has been observed in the volume of the shares being traded. In May 2025, around 11.56 crore shares were traded, while in April, 9 crore shares were traded. The surge in the month of May has been much higher than the 7.6 crore shares traded in February.
CDSL Quarter Results
In the last quarter of the fiscal year 2025, the company’s profit fell by 22 percent to Rs 100.39 crore, which was Rs 129.4 crore in the same quarter of the fiscal year 2024. Operational income declined by 6.7 percent to Rs 224.45 crore. Expenses increased to Rs 129.40 crore, which was Rs 100.9 crore last year. The company announced a final dividend of Rs 12.50 per share in this quarter.
CDSL Share Price
At the time of writing the article, CDSL shares were trading at Rs 1,790. The stock has gained around 18 percent since last week. The stock has given a strong profit of 36 percent in one month, and in the last three months, the counter rallied around 55 percent. On the 5-year returns, the stock has given a return of over 1,264 percent. The company has a market capitalization of Rs 37177 crore.
CDSL Business
CDSL is one of the two depositories in India – the other being NSDL, which has filed for its IPO. The depository is the place where all the share transactions and other important documents are stored. CDSL is the largest depository in the country, especially in terms of retail investors. In another way, CDSL helps investors to store their shares digitally. It takes care of the KYC needs of the investors and helps in facilitating the transactions of dividend amounts. The shares are being kept in digital form by CDSL.
