Champions Trophy: PCB pens down blunt letter to ICC, demands explanation from BCCI

New Delhi: The most talked-about row that has been brewing in the cricketing circle over the past few months is the Champions Trophy 2025 debate. With India making it clear last week that they won’t travel to the neighbouring country for the big-ticket event due to the political tensions between the two nations, a latest twist has engulfed the saga.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), after being a mute spectator to all this, has finally come into action after writing a hard-hitting letter to the International Cricket Council (ICC) demanding a written explanation from the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) for not travelling to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. The massive event, which features eight teams, is set to take place from February 19 to March 9 2025 in Pakistan.

India refuses to travel, Pakistan seeks explanation

Earlier today, it came to the notice that the PCB was thinking of writing a letter to the ICC regarding the same and now as per a report published in Espncricinfo, the PCB has penned down a firm letter to the apex cricketing body demanding not just a written explanation from the BCCI but also a valid justification for it. This comes after ICC informed the PCB that Indian government has denied permission to their team to travel to Pakistan.
