New Delhi: Jasprit Bumrah is arguably the best all-format bowler in the world right now. He picked up 32 wickets in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy and broke many records during the series. He was also named Player of the Series for his stunning performance.

Bumrah’s popularity knows no boundary as Coldplay singer Chris Martin gave a shootout to the star fast bowler during their much-awaited concert that took place at Dr DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Saturday, January 18. This happened when the crowd was grooving Coldplay’s popular song ‘Sky Full of Stars’. Chris Martin asked the crowd to stop and then mentioned Bumrah’s name.

“Hold on, we have to finish the show because Jasprit Bumrah wants to come and play backstage. He says he needs to bowl at me now” Martin said. He also chanted Bumrah’s name after hearing it from the crowd. “We’ll ask him to wait 15 minutes” he added further.

 Bumrah included in India’s Champions Trophy squad

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced India’s 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against England and the Champions Trophy on Saturday, January 18.

Bumrah suffered back spasms during the last Test against Australia in Sydney, has been included in the squad for the Champions Trophy. However, his participation in the tournament is doubtful. He will miss the first two ODIs against England and the team management is hopeful that he will play the third and final ODI.
