New Delhi: In the first-ever WWE Monday Night RAW episode on Netflix, WWE announced a historic move as Royal Rumble 2026 will be hosted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This will be the first time Royal Rumble will be hosted outside North America.
WWE began live events in Saudi Arabia in 2013 and started a new pay-per-view specially for Riyadh’s fans named Crown Jewel. In the initial days, Saudi Arabia only hosted the Crown Jewel once a year but in 2014 they hosted the King and Queen of the Ring and Crown Jewel events. Riyadh also hosted one episode of RAW and Smackdown each in 2014.
WWE fans have special emotions with Royal Rumble as in the Royal Rumble event many legends and former stars showcase their presence. The first Royal Rumble event took place in 1988 and after a growing presence in Saudi Arabia, WWE announced the biggest event after WrestleMania to be hosted in their city.
“Saudi Arabia’s hosting of the Royal Rumble for the first time outside North America reflects the General Entertainment Authority’s ongoing commitment to bringing the world’s largest and most important entertainment events to the Kingdom,” Saudi Arabian Royal Court adviser and General Entertainment Authority chairman Turki Alalshikh said.
In recent times, WWE shifted their live events outside North America. They hosted events in Australia, France, Canada, and Germany to grow the presence of the sport globally.
