New Delhi: Cristiano Ronaldo’s future is subject to intense speculation ever since the legendary Portuguese striker hinted that his time at Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr might be over. Ronaldo recently hinted about leaving the Saudi club at the end of the Saudi Pro League season with a social media post which went viral.

Ever since Ronaldo hinted about his imminent exit from Al Nassr, there have been multiple rumours floating, surrounding his future. The 40-year-old might be in the last phase of his illustrious career, but he remains a potent force as a frontman and has still been scoring goals for fun. A number of clubs ave expressed interest in signing Ronaldo ahead of the next season.

Recently, La Liga club Rayo Vallecano’s president Raul Martin Presa expressed his interest in signing Ronaldo for his club and bringing him back to the Spanish top flight. Presa said if given a green signal by the player, he would go to Saudi himself and bring him back to Spain ‘in his arms’.

“If Cristiano Ronaldo comes within reach, I’ll go to Saudi Arabia and bring him back in my arms,” Presa told Radio Marca.

Ronaldo eyeing Club World Cup

Ronaldo is reportedly keen on leaving Al Nassr to join a club that will be featuring in the FIFA Club World Cup, which will be played in the June-July this year. As per reports, Brazilian clubs Botafogo and Flamengo, who will be playing in the Club World Cup, have expressed interest in securing the signature of the legendary forward.

Some reports have also linked Ronaldo to Premier League giants Chelsea, who are reportedly interested in doing a short-term deal for the 40-year-old legendary striker. However, it remains to be seen where Ronaldo will be heading to next as he stands just over 60 goals short of completing the milestone of 1000 career goals.

Ronaldo finished as the top scorer in the Saudi Pro League 2024-25 with 25 goals in 30 matches for Al Nassr, ahead of the likes of Ivan Toney and Karim Benzema. Overall, Ronaldo has scored 99 goals in 111 games for Al-Nassr across all competitions since joining the club in 2022.
