Cristiano Ronaldo’s eldest son has received his first call-up to the Portuguese Under-15s squad. The 14-year-old, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., currently plays for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, the same club his father joined in December 2022. Prior to this, he has represented the youth teams of Juventus and Manchester United.
The young forward is set to represent Portugal at Croatia’s Vlatko Markovic International Tournament, scheduled from May 13 to 18. His father, Cristiano Ronaldo Sr., shared his pride on social media, posting a picture of his son’s name on the national team list with the heartfelt message: “Proud of you, son!”
Following in father’s footsteps
Ronaldo Sr. has previously expressed support for his son’s passion for football but has also emphasised the importance of not placing excessive pressure on him. Last year, the football icon commented on the challenges facing this generation, stating, “Right at this moment, Cristiano wants to be a football player, but I don’t make big pressure, I make a little.” He added, “He’s 14 years old, he has pressure already to be the son of Cristiano [senior]. Let him do his own mistakes, but I hope that in the future he can be a professional player.”
Following in his father’s footsteps, Cristiano Jr. impressed last year with a notable goal for the Al Nassr academy that reportedly showed resemblance to CR7 Sr.’s trademark aerial ability. His youth career journey, like his father’s senior path, includes stints at prominent clubs such as Manchester United and Juventus.
