New Delhi: A report has claimed that Israel detonated, first of its kind, pager and walkie-talkie bomb attacks, against Hezbollah leaders, earlier than they had actually planned. At least 35 people mostly Hezbollah leader were killed in back-to-back communication devices explosions in Lebanon, carried out on Tuesday and Wednesday. Post these deadly attack, Hezbollah has warned Israel of ‘special punishment’.
According to a report in Axios, Israelis have planned to carry out ‘communication devices-turned bombs’ attack in Lebanon when an all-out war had broken out with Iran-backed militant outfit.
However, as per Axios, Israeli agencies got a tiff off that Hezbollah leaders in Lebanon were getting suspicious about these devices.
Post these inputs, Israel decided to detonate the devices earlier than planned after a green go ahead from Benjamin Netanyahu .
Reports further said that the White House was reportedly informed about the operation moments before devices began exploding in Lebanon.
They said Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant in a phone call with US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin informed him that his country was going to conduct an operation in Lebanon.
