Washington: US Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has confirmed that he will participate in the debate with US Vice President Kamala Harris on September 4 on Fox News. Former President said that he has agreed to an offer made by Fox News.
In a post on Truth Social, Donald Trump said, “The debate was previously scheduled against Sleepy Joe Biden on ABC but it has been terminated as Biden will no longer be a participant.”
Trump said that the debate will be held in Pennsylvania and rules will be almost similar to the ones which were framed during the CNN presidential debate against President Biden.
“Rules will be similar to the rules of my debate with Sleepy Joe, who has been treated horribly by his party, but with a full arena audience,” Trump said.
Kamala Harris Had Challenged Trump To Debate
“Donald, I do hope you’ll reconsider meeting me on the debate stage because, as the saying goes, if you got something to say, say it to my face,” Vice President said at a Georgia rally recently.
Earlier, Trump stated that he would not debate the Vice President, as she has not been confirmed by the Democrats as their official candidate after Biden withdrew his re-election bid on July 21.
Trump Escalates Race Attacks on Kamala Harris’ Indian heritage
Kamala Harris’s ethnic identity is becoming a key issue in the US presidential election campaign. It came under further scrutiny after Republican candidate Trump launched a strong personal attack on Harris by claiming that she, after being of “Indian heritage” for years, “turned black” a few years ago. He further claimed that Harris “all of a sudden, made a turn” in her identity and wants to be known as a woman of colour.
The 2024 United States presidential election will be held on November 5, later this year.
