Pennsylvania: Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump was rushed out of his campaign rally on Saturday. by Secret Service agents in Pennsylvania’s Butler after gunshots were fired.
Thanking “law enforcement and first responders for their quick action during this heinous act”, Trump said he was “fine” and had been taken to a medical facility for check-up.
At least one audience at the rally was killed and the shooter dead, said local reports quoting district attorney Richard Goldringer.
Taking to X, secret service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi said, “An incident occurred the evening of July 13 at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania. The Secret Service has implemented protective measures and the former President is safe. This is now an active Secret Service investigation and further information will be released when available.”

Another person is believed to be in a critical state, local reports further quoted Goldringer as saying. As dozen shots were heard in the rally, several security agents leaped in front of Trump as a voice could be heard saying, “Get down, get down, get down!”
Dramatic scenes unfolded soon after with people screaming. As the gunshots continued, NBC News captured an audio saying, “Shooter’s down. Shooter’s down. Are we good to move? We’re clear, we’re clear.”
An eyewitness recounts the horror that unfolded at the Trump rally
According to an eyewitness present at the rally, one person around him had lost a lot of blood around him as he tried to get him up and gave him a CPR. “I heard the shots. I thought they were firecrackers to begin with. Somebody over there was screaming he’s been shot, he’s been shot. So I made my way over. I said I am an emergency department physician, let me help you. The guy who spun around was jammed between the benches. He had a head shot here and had lost lots of blood and there was brain matter. And so I got him. There’s the helicopter coming in to get him,” said the eyewitness.
