Eduardo Camavinga to undergo hamstring test as Real Madrid’s injury woes deepen

New Delhi: Real Madrid this season have had a long list of injuries, with key players missing in action. The latest to join the list was Eduardo Camavinga, who picked up a hamstring-related issue during his side’s 2-0 Champions League loss to Liverpool at Anfield right before the hour mark.

The French international was chasing the ball when he stopped abruptly and fell on the ground, holding the back of his left leg, and was clearly in discomfort with the hamstring. Camavinga was forced to walk off the field after brief medical attention from Madrid’s medical staff and was replaced by Dani Ceballos. According to the Athlete, he is all set to undergo tests for the extent of his hamstring injury.

In the early parts of the season, the 22-year-old had missed 12 games for his club and country with a left knee injury he had during training sessions before the UEFA Super Cup victory over Atlanta in August. With seven games being played in the coming three weeks, Ancelotti’s team, of course, will feel the absence of a key player like Camavinga. Madrid are yet to give a timeline for Camvinga’s return.

Real Madrid’s growing list of injuries

They are already without the services of Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal, who are both out for a long period due to ACL injuries. David Alaba was out with an ACL tear, though he is making every effort to make a comeback soon. In fact Camavinga’s fellow midfielder Aerlien Tchouameni is on the sidelines due to an ankle injury.

Vinicius Junior last weekend suffered a hamstring injury which the club has already noted will keep him out of action for at least three weeks, although the Brazilian is currently targeting the Atlanta clash in the Champions League on 10th December to be his date of return. Rodrygo was injured during the side’s 5-2 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League back in October.

Ancelotti, who had previously criticised the packed football calendar, appeared optimistic about the team’s performance. He noted that the team was facing a similar situation last season. He was hopeful that Rodrygo or Tchouameni will be back in action when Madrid face Getafe in La Liga’s weekend action.

Real Madrid’s injury list extended on Wednesday as Eduardo Camavinga joins list of players out with injury after facing hamstring issues during his side’s 2-0 loss to Liverpool.  Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
