Emirates Bans Pagers, Walkie-Talkie; Flights For Iran and Iraq to Remain Cancelled

Dubai: After Qatar Airways, Dubai-based Emirates also on Friday, October 4, in its travel notice for its customers announced that pagers and walkie-talkies are prohibited from carrying in either checked-in or cabin baggage.

It further emphasised that by doing so the hand luggage or checked-in baggage will be confiscated by the Dubai Police.

The Airline also announced that flights to and from Beruit remain cancelled until October 15 and advised

The airline announced that its flights to and from Beirut remain cancelled until 15th October 2024. It further advised its affected customers to contact their booking agents to make alternative travel arrangements or, if the tickets have been booked directly with Emirates then to reach out to the airline for assistance.

Flights to Iran and Iraq Cancelled

While flights to Jordan will resume starting 6th October 2024, operations to and from Iraq (Basra and Baghdad) and Iran (Tehran) remain cancelled until 7th October 2024.

The airline earlier said that it has cancelled flights to Iraq, Iran and Jordan for three days over “regional unrest” after an Iranian missile strike on Israel stoked fears of a wider war.

“Emirates is canceling all flights to/from Iraq (Basra and Baghdad), Iran (Tehran), and Jordan (Amman) on 4th and 5th October due to regional unrest,” the airline said.

Earlier today, Iran announced that flights had resumed after a brief suspension since the Tuesday attack.
