New Delhi: Youngster Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s explosive century for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL was nothing short of breathtaking. But with fame also comes attention, both good and bad. While Vaibhav’s fearless hitting and charming smile won the hearts of cricket fans, a fake X (formerly Twitter) account profile pretending to be him caused quite a stir online.

As the 14-year-old was making headlines for dismantling Gujarat Titans with a stunning 101 off 38 balls, a fake account surfaced on X using the name “Vaibhav Sooryavanshi” and the handle @VaibhavOfficia, quickly gained followers. With Vaibhav’s official Rajasthan Royals jersey as its profile photo and his India U19 image as the cover, the account looked convincing to many.

The fake profile posted some tweets from the official X handle of RR before the matter escalated when the fake account responded to a post by the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who had praised Vaibhav’s magnificent innings. Tendulkar highlighted the teenager’s fearless batting, stating, “Vaibhav’s fearless approach, bat speed, picking the length early, and transferring the energy behind the ball was the recipe behind a fabulous innings. End result: 101 runs off 38 balls. Well played!!”

The fake account’s reply went viral and generated a lot of attention, as most of the X users thought it was Suryavanshi’s account. The tweet received over 55,000 likes and 4,000 reposts before X took action to stop the misinformation.

However, X flagged the account, pointing out that it wasn’t followed by Rajasthan Royals (who follow all their players), used a suspicious handle with “Officia,” and had all posts dated April 28, which is a clear sign of farming engagement. The account was suspended soon after, though the impostor tried to create another one under a slightly different handle.

Real talent shines bright

Meanwhile, the real Vaibhav Suryavanshi let his bat do the talking. His century not only guided Rajasthan Royals to a dominant eight-wicket win over Gujarat Titans but also etched his name in the history books. Reaching his hundred in just 35 balls, he became the youngest and fastest Indian to score an IPL century, breaking Yusuf Pathan’s long-standing record.

Speaking after the game, a humble Vaibhav said, “It’s a dream come true. I just see the ball and play. I don’t think much, just focus on my game.” With a talent like his, Vaibhav’s real journey has only just begun, no fake profiles needed.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s record-breaking IPL century sparks a fake X profile frenzy as the 14-year-old smashes his way into the cricketing spotlight.  Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
