New Delhi: Bayern Munich have expressed remorse over the death of a fan who was in attendance during the side’s 1-0 victory over Benfica during the Champions League. The club from Bavaria announced that they had received the news during the final stages of the game they had received the sad news that the fan had died while being transported to the hospital.
Out of respect for the individual, Bayern fans refrained from singing or chanting during the game to show their respect. The atmosphere in the stadium had become sombre after kickoff when it became evident that there was medical attention and police officers were required.
The Bayern Supporters’ Group Club Nr 12 have said that their members wouldn’t be as enthusiastic given that there was a life in question and gave their support to the friends and family of the fan. The fans didn’t chant even after the fans had been taken out of the stadium.

Bayern back to winning ways in Champions League
Bayern’s victory came from Jamal Musiala’s 67-th minute header, set up brilliantly by Harry Kane. The team have managed to win a game in the Champions League after losing two games in a row in the competition. In domestic football, Bayern are back at the top of the Bundesliga points table.
Though the fans did celebrate the goal, the crowd, for the most part, remained silent. Before Bayern’s announcement, the club’s midfielder, Konrad Laimer, noted that they were unaware of the situation during the game and wished the family and the fans all the strength.
