Sharma is the ex-chairman of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India and former CEO of the National Health Authority. He has also served as the ex-mission director of the Aadhaar nodal body UIDAI. ONDC platform has been in the works since 2021 and went online in the Beta stage in September 2022. Incorporated as a section 8 company, ONDC is led by MD and CEO T Koshy. ONDC is a project to democratise e-commerce in India. It is an unbundled solution which encompasses buyers, sellers and logistics service providers. It is network-based and not platform-based, said Sharma. India’s digital public infrastructure enables ONDC to work. AI, deep learning and LLMs are being tapped to understand support for ONDC.
