New Delhi: The tickets for the women’s T20 World Cup 2024 in the UAE went on sale on Wednesday with the cheapest ones costing as less as five UAE dirham, that equals to Rs 114 INR. The showpiece event begins on October 3 and India is set to play their opening match a day later on October 4 against New Zealand.

The tickets for the marquee event were made available with just over 7 days left for World Cup. The event will kick-off with a match between Bangladesh women and Scotland women while Pakistan women will lock horns with Sri Lanka in the evening on the same day. The showpiece event was originally supposed to be held in Bangladesh but was moved to the UAE due to political unrest in the South Asian country caused by a students’ protest over quota in jobs.

“Tickets have been priced with accessibility in mind, starting from just 5 AED, while premium seating options are available at 40 AED (Rs 910). For double-header match days, a single ticket grants access to both games,” said the ICC in a statement.

Entry to be free for Under-18

The ICC further said that entry would be free for everyone under the age of 18 years. This step has been taken to elevate the attendance of the crowd during the women’s games which quite less as compared to the men’s fixtures. Offline tickets will also be available outside the stadiums to promote the event and increase the attendance.

“For added convenience, kiosks will also be available at both Dubai International Stadium and Sharjah Cricket Stadium for offline ticket purchases,” the statement added.
