German Firm’s Cryopreservation Tech Promises to Defy Death

Germany: John Cena’s on-screen revival from death might become a reality, as a German start-up wishes to turn this into reality. Imagine being immotal!

Bryan Johnson, the 46-year-old CEO of a Silicon Valley company, claims to have reversed his age by five years. Taking this concept further, a German firm, Tomorrow Bio, offers cryopreservation services, freezing individuals at the time of death, with the promise of reviving them when technology advances.

According to reports, Tomorrow Bio charges ₹1.8 crores to preserve the entire body and ₹67.2 lakhs for brain preservation only.

Cryopreservation involves cooling the body to -198 degrees Celsius, putting it in ‘biostasis,’ a state where all biological processes are halted indefinitely.

The company promises that the cause of death can be treated, and the person can be brought back to life, much like John Cena’s on-screen resurrections.

Tomorrow Bio, the German firm, envisions a world where people can choose their lifespan, regardless of their location, identity, or financial resources. The company has already cryopreserved six individuals and five pets, with over 650 people waiting in line for the service.

Co-founder Fernando Azevedo Pinheiro hopes to witness the safe cryopreservation and reanimation of complex organisms”.

Mr Pinheir also stated that his company starts the work as soon as a person dies. He explained that specially made ambulances available in different European cities carry the bodies to the main facility in Switzerland.

What exactly is cryopreservation?

It’s a method of preserving live cells, tissues, and biological samples at extremely low temperatures (typically -196°C) for storage or preservation. This process enables cells to survive freezing and thawing, offering a potential means of extending the human lifespan.
